So…. I buy a lot of coffee. Not like Starbucks… I really dislike Starbucks. I’m one of those people who likes to refer to it as Char Bucks. Thing is… I know a little bit about coffee. I blame my girlfriend for starting me down that route. I drank coffee a little before that but when I was visiting her one day back in 2008-2009ish during the housing bubble she made coffee and it was the absolute best coffee I’ve ever had. It turns out it was some Ethiopian Dry Process coffee beans from a farm in the Sidamo region if I remember correctly. She had roasted it in this little popcorn popper-like machine called a Fresh Roast Plus 8. You buy beans that are “green” and then roast them to whatever level of darkness you want. The lighter they are the more fruity and sweet the coffee is naturally. The darker… the more Char Bucks it becomes…. I get it.. some people actually like that. I’m just saying there is better.
Since then I’ve purchased several coffee makers… multiple professional level espresso machines… helped design an espresso machine… bought several different coffee grinders including a professional type used in coffee shops. I have a 5-7 gallon cold brew brewing bucket system. There’s several different pour over coffee makers. There’s a vietnamese phin… french press… aeropress…. and several other devices from various kickstarter campaigns…indigogo…etc…
When I buy coffee I but at LEAST 10 lbs at a time. Usually 20-40lbs.
Did I mention I like coffee?
